Why BEAUTIFUL LIFE?

How can we make our cities more beautiful, sustainable, inclusive, and capable of generating well-being for new generations?

On October 23, 2026, Parma European Youth Capital 2027 invites young people from Italy and Europe to participate in BEAUTIFUL LIFE, a European day dedicated to the relationship between youth, beauty, well-being, and quality of life, developed from the perspective of the New European Bauhaus.

The event will be a meeting space for young people, European institutions, organizations, designers, creatives, architects, professionals, and entities from the New European Bauhaus ecosystem, with the aim of bringing the perspective of new generations into the debate on the transformation of European cities and communities.

Who we are looking for

The Call is aimed at young people under 35 interested in the themes of the New European Bauhaus and, more generally, at young people who work in or wish to delve deeper into the following areas:
  • architecture, urban planning, urban regeneration, and public space;
  • art, culture, design, and creative industries;
  • well-being, quality of life, and community health;
  • sustainability and new models of urban living;
  • youth participation and community building;
  • social innovation and project design;
  • creativity and new professions related to urban transformation.
The Call is aimed at young people under 35 interested in the themes of the New European Bauhaus and, more generally, at young people who work in or wish to delve deeper into the following areas:

Please Note

It is not necessary to belong to an organization or hold a specific professional title: we are primarily looking for young people interested in actively contributing to the discussion and co-design.

What will you do in Parma

Towards 2027

Participants will take part in the entire BEAUTIFUL LIFE day, contributing in particular to the Youth Perspectives – Parallel Working Sessions, built around the question: “What should the New European Bauhaus look like through the eyes of young people?”
The proclamation is not an end point, but the beginning of a new phase. 2025 and 2026 are the years dedicated to building the network, defining the governance and the shared development of the programme.In 2027 Parma will become a great European square: a widespread space for meeting, experimentation and participation, capable of involving young people, institutions, associations, businesses and citizens.

During the day, it will also be possible to learn about projects from the European ecosystem of the New European Bauhaus through the NEB Youth Fair, participate in networking moments, and contribute to the reflection towards a possible NEB Youth Journey 2027.

Who can apply

Young people under 35 interested in the themes of the New European Bauhaus and the quality of life in cities.

Coverage

Up to €150 in total per participant.

Eligible expenses

Round-trip transport to Parma and overnight stay for the night between October 22 and 23, 2026.

Excess costs

They remain the responsibility of the participant.
